Sandy Genis for Costa Mesa City Council 2016 (the “2016 Committee”), Sandy Genis for Costa Mesa Mayor 2018 (the “2018 Committee”), and Sandy Genis for Costa Mesa Mayor 2020 (the “2020 Committee”) were Genis’ candidate-controlled committees. The 2016 Committee and Genis failed to timely file two pre-election campaign statements, in violation of Government Code Section 84200.5 and 84200.8 (1 count), and eight semi-annual campaign statements in violation of Government Code Section 84200 (5 counts). The 2018 Committee and Genis failed to timely file two pre-election campaign statements, in violation of Government Code Sections 84200.5 and 84200.8 (1 count), and nine semi-annual campaign statements, in violation of Government Code Section 84200 (5 counts). The 2020 Committee and Genis failed to file an amended Statement of Organization, in violation of Government Code Section 84101 (1 count); failed to report contributor information, in violation of Government Code Section 84211 (1 count); failed to timely file two pre-election campaign statements, in violation of Government Code Sections 84200.5 and 84200.8 (1 count), and seven semi-annual campaign statements, in violation of Government Code Section 84200 (5 counts).
